We feel very fortunate to have you attend our wedding and appreciate that the trip to Kinsale is a significant investment of both your time and money, so please do not feel obliged to provide us with anything more than your presence at our wedding.
However, we received numerous reactions of 'but we would like to give you something' when we mentioned that we were thinking of a no gift policy to some of our friends. So to give those people who want to provide a gift an option to do so we have provided 2 gift suggestions below.
1: Contribution towards two Indian/Sri Lankan charities run by the Niththy family.
Helping Hands for Underprivileged brings much needed education to poverty stricken children in Southern India. It believes that these children will transform their communities through education. They are currently educating 72 children at their school in Andhra Pradesh.
Ratnam Foundation supports the Tamil community in Sri Lanka through a wide range of grassroot activities. Their actions have led to the opening of local computer centres, a portable diabetic centre, a law library and have ensured ongoing schooling for Tamil children in the community they serve.
2: Contribution towards a piece of artwork for our home
After our wedding we would like to acquire a piece of artwork to commemorate our wedding - something that will bring a little bit of extra colour into our home ;)
